For The Awaka Group, being a real estate team in the Denver Metro area means being part of the community we serve.
Buying and selling homes may be what we do every day, but our mission has always been bigger than real estate. We believe in Building Better Futures, and sometimes that means helping someone find the right home. Other times, it means helping a young person see possibilities for their future that they may not have known existed.
This summer, we had the opportunity to put that mission into action through our continued partnership with Hope Communities.
Supporting Hope Communities and Local Denver Students
The Awaka Group has participated with Hope Communities in the past, but this year we wanted to do more.
We planned and sponsored an entire weeklong Self Discovery Journey for local students participating in Hope Communities' HB program. Our sponsorship covered meals and transportation throughout the week so the students could focus on experiencing new places, learning about different industries and discovering their own potential.
Throughout the week, students had opportunities to visit and learn from organizations including the Denver Museum of Nature & Science, a Denver water recycling treatment facility and the Humane Society of Denver.
But one of our favorite parts of the week happened right here at The Awaka Group.
Introducing Students to Careers in Real Estate
We welcomed the students into our office for a firsthand look at the world of real estate.
For many young people, the careers they imagine for themselves are shaped by the careers they've had an opportunity to see.
We wanted to expand that picture.
Real estate is much bigger than being a Realtor. Our industry includes marketing, operations, transaction management, photography, lending, title, homebuilding, investing, property management, technology and entrepreneurship.
Opening our doors gave us an opportunity to talk about those possibilities and show students what a career in real estate can actually look like.
More importantly, we wanted them to leave knowing that there are many different ways to build a successful future.
Why Community Involvement Matters to The Awaka Group
We spend every day helping people make decisions about where they're going to live.
That gives the word "community" a different meaning to us.
A great community isn't created solely by homes, parks, schools or businesses. It's created by the people who live there and by people who are willing to invest their time and resources into making it stronger.
That's why community involvement is an important part of who we are at The Awaka Group.
We want our neighbors to know that we're here for more than real estate transactions. We're invested in the people and the future of Aurora, Denver and the communities throughout the Denver Metro area that we have the privilege of serving.
What Does "Build Better Futures" Mean?
Build Better Futures is more than a tagline for The Awaka Group.
It's the idea that the work we do today can create opportunities for tomorrow.
For our real estate clients, that might mean helping a first-time buyer become a homeowner, helping a family find a home that better fits their life, or helping a seller take the next step toward their goals.
Within our community, it means looking for opportunities to make an impact beyond buying and selling homes.
Our week with Hope Communities was a reminder of exactly why that matters.
If one student walked away from the Self Discovery Journey thinking differently about what's possible for their future, that's something worth investing in.
More Than a Denver Metro Real Estate Team
We're proud to be a real estate team serving Aurora, Denver and communities throughout the Denver Metro area, but the number of homes we sell will never be the only measure of our success.
The relationships we build matter.
The communities we support matter.
And the futures we have an opportunity to impact matter.
We're incredibly grateful to Hope Communities for allowing The Awaka Group to be part of this year's Self Discovery Journey and for the work they continue to do for local students and families.
This is what Building Better Futures looks like to us.
And we're excited to keep building.
