Beginning October 1, 2026, The Awaka Group at Real Broker is launching a new real estate team model designed to give Colorado agents more flexibility, stronger earning potential, and access to the systems and support of a team while maintaining greater ownership over how they build their business.

This change has been in the works for several months. We spent a lot of time looking at our current model, talking about what producing agents actually need from a team today, and being willing to question some of the things that have simply become standard in the real estate industry.

What we kept coming back to was that agents should not have to choose between having great support and having greater ownership of the business they create.

So we rebuilt our model around that idea.

The Awaka Group brand, community and commitment to our clients remain at the center of what we do. What is changing is the way agents can grow their individual businesses alongside us.

Rethinking the Traditional Real Estate Team Model

For a long time, joining a real estate team has come with a fairly predictable tradeoff. Agents gain access to leads, systems, training, marketing and operational support, but they often give up a significant portion of their commission, including on clients and opportunities they generate themselves.

Going independent can solve part of that problem, but it also means taking responsibility for nearly every part of the business. Marketing, technology, transaction management, systems, lead generation, training and day to day operations all fall back on the individual agent.

We believe there is room for something in between.

As we looked at the next chapter of The Awaka Group, we asked ourselves what we would build if we were creating a real estate team specifically for today’s producing agent.

Our new model is the result.

Better Economics for Agent Generated Business

One of the biggest changes to The Awaka Group’s new agent model is a significantly more competitive compensation structure that gives agents greater earning potential on the business they personally generate.

Under the new model, agents can earn more than 20 percent more than they did under our previous team structure, while continuing to have access to the systems, resources, community and support that come with being part of The Awaka Group.

That distinction matters to us. When an agent invests time in building relationships, growing a database, creating content, prospecting and developing referral relationships, we believe the economics should reflect the business they are building.

At the same time, The Awaka Group will continue investing in company generated opportunities, technology, marketing, systems and infrastructure that give agents additional ways to grow.

The result is a highly competitive team split designed to make sense not only for agents who are building their businesses today, but also for agents who plan to significantly increase their production over time.

A Model Designed to Reward Growth

We also wanted to make sure our new compensation model continues to reward agents as their businesses grow.

Rather than creating a structure where increased production eventually makes being part of a team less attractive, the new Awaka Group model creates additional earning opportunities for producing agents as they reach higher levels of production.

For agents who are serious about growing their own book of business, that means there is more room to increase both production and income while continuing to benefit from the infrastructure of a team.

Real Estate Team Support With More Independence

Better economics only matter if agents still receive meaningful value from being part of the team.

Agents at The Awaka Group remain connected to the team’s brand, community, systems, technology, training, marketing resources and operational support. The difference is that the new model gives agents more flexibility in deciding how they want to build and grow their individual businesses.

We know that not every successful real estate agent builds a business the same way. One agent may grow primarily through their database and referrals while another focuses heavily on social media, prospecting, open houses or community relationships.

Our role is to provide a strong foundation, useful resources and a collaborative environment that supports those different paths.

More Flexibility as an Agent’s Business Grows

What an agent needs early in their career can look very different from what they need once they have an established client base and consistent production.

A newer agent may benefit most from training, accountability, structure and opportunities to work with clients. An established agent may be looking for leverage, marketing resources, transaction systems or additional support that allows them to increase production without personally taking on every additional task.

Our updated model is designed with that progression in mind.

Agents have access to the core Awaka Group environment, along with resources that include technology, training, marketing, accountability, transaction systems and optional listing support. This gives agents the ability to use more support where it makes sense for their business without assuming that every agent needs exactly the same thing.

Built for Agents Who Want to Build Their Own Business

Our goal has never been to become the biggest real estate team in Colorado. We care much more about building an environment where strong agents can create businesses they are proud of while doing great work for their clients.

We are especially interested in working with agents who want to build relationships, create their own opportunities, take ownership of their growth and contribute to a collaborative team.

There is no single formula for what that has to look like.

Some agents will build large referral based databases. Others may become listing specialists, create a strong presence through social media, develop geographic niches, prospect consistently or become deeply involved in their local communities.

The business belongs to the agent building it. Our job is to provide the environment, tools, support and community that help make that growth possible.

The Awaka Group at Real Broker

The Awaka Group is a Colorado real estate team at Real Broker serving clients throughout the Denver Metro area, including Aurora, Centennial, Parker, Denver, Castle Rock, Littleton and surrounding communities.

Being part of Real Broker allows our agents to combine the support and relationships of a local real estate team with the technology, resources and network of a national brokerage.

For our agents, that means they can continue building their own local presence and client base while staying connected to both The Awaka Group and the larger Real Broker community.

What Is Staying the Same at The Awaka Group

While our business model is evolving, the principles behind The Awaka Group are not.

Relationships have always mattered here. So has creating an exceptional experience for our clients, collaborating with the people around us and staying connected to the communities where we live and work.

We also believe real estate can create opportunities well beyond a single transaction. It can help our clients build their futures, give agents the opportunity to create businesses and careers they are proud of, and allow all of us to make a bigger impact on our families and communities.

The new model is simply a better way for us to support those things as we grow.

The new Awaka Group agent model officially launches October 1, 2026, and we are excited about what it creates for both our current agents and the people who may grow with us next.
