WELCOME TO COMMERCE CITY
Commerce City sits just northeast of Denver in Adams County, stretching from older neighborhoods near the city to newer communities out toward Denver International Airport. It incorporated in 1952 and has grown a lot since, especially on its northern side.
The outdoors here might surprise you. Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge covers about 27 square miles of lakes, wetlands, and grasslands, and it's one of the largest urban wildlife refuges in the country. Bison sightings just minutes from home are pretty hard to beat. The city also has around 25 miles of trails and two recreation centers.
What makes Commerce City special is how much it packs in. Dick's Sporting Goods Park is home to the Colorado Rapids, Buffalo Run Golf Course has wide-open mountain views, and Barr Lake State Park is a short drive away. REAL ESTATE IN COMMERCE CITY
Commerce City really has two sides. The historic core closer to Denver has older, smaller homes with character, often on bigger lots, which can be a great value for buyers who want to be close in. To the north, master-planned communities like Reunion, which Shea Homes began developing in 2001, offer newer two-story homes, parks, and community amenities.
Newer construction continues to expand in the northern part of the city, so buyers often have the option of new or nearly new homes. Overall, Commerce City tends to offer a lot of space for the money compared with many metro suburbs, with the airport and downtown both within reach.
